General File Preparation Guidelines:

For the best results, download our file prep guides in this folder. Remove hidden layers or artwork not meant for print to avoid unexpected results.

Submit each project, even multi-page jobs, as a single PDF. Make sure all pages match size and orientation. Review the File Orientation Guides before submitting. Avoid borders near your card’s trim edge. Slight shifts during production can make borders look uneven.

Include a 1/8" bleed in your file. Keep important text and design inside the safety margin. Give extra space around key business details on the card edge. Use only high-resolution images (CMYK color, 300 DPI) for sharp, accurate printing.

Use C0, M0, Y0, K100 for black text. For larger black areas, use C30, M20, Y20, K100 for a rich color. For small text, use single-color black (K100) for best clarity.

Embed or outline all fonts. Always submit in CMYK color mode unless special edge designs require otherwise.

Thin White Text on Rich Black Backgrounds:

Small white text on dark backgrounds may shift during production. Use C30, M20, Y20, K100 for backgrounds and avoid over-saturating colors. Increase knockout text thickness for sharp readability.

Recommended minimum line weight: 0.75pt
Recommended minimum font size: 8pt

If your design uses thin white text or fine lines, enlarge knockout areas slightly for crisp results after painting the edge.
