What does YMCKO mean?

YMCKO is a full-color ribbon with yellow, magenta, cyan, black (K) and a clear overlay (O) panel. The overlay seals the print so it does not smudge or fade.

How many cards does one ribbon print?

Yield depends on the ribbon and printer — typically 100-300 cards for full-color YMCKO and 1,000-3,000 for monochrome black ribbons.

Can I use third-party ribbons in an Evolis printer?

We do not recommend it. Evolis printers read a chip on genuine ribbons, and non-genuine consumables can damage the printhead and void the warranty.

How often should I clean the printer?

Run a cleaning kit at every ribbon change, or sooner if you see lines or specks in the print. It is the cheapest way to keep a printhead alive.
