- What is the difference between single-sided and dual-sided printing?
- Single-sided printers print one face; dual-sided printers flip the card automatically so you can put policy text, barcodes or emergency contacts on the back without handling each card twice.
- Do I need a printer that encodes magnetic stripes or smart cards?
- Only if the badge also opens doors or logs into systems. Encoding modules can be specified at purchase on Primacy 2 and are far cheaper than retrofitting later.
- What does it cost per card to print?
- Ribbon yield drives the cost. A full-color YMCKO ribbon typically prints 100-300 cards depending on the model, so per-card cost usually lands between roughly $0.20 and $0.60 including the blank card.
