General File Preparation Guidelines:

Download the guides in this folder for the best print results. Always remove any hidden layers not intended for printing (like setup guides or hidden artwork), as these may appear in your final output.

Submit every job—including multi-page projects—as a single PDF file, with all pages at the same size. Make sure files are properly oriented to guarantee accurate backing; refer to the File Orientation Guides in the product images.

Keep borders away from trim edges to prevent unevenness after cutting. Add a 1/8" bleed to all files. Place important text or premium artwork inside the safety margin, and use a larger margin whenever possible to avoid having essential elements trimmed too closely or cut off.

All PDFs must be high resolution; images should be set to CMYK color mode at 300 DPI for optimal results.

For cards with black text, use values C0, M0, Y0, K100. For larger black areas, use C30, M20, Y20, K100 to achieve a deep, saturated black. This method avoids the dull appearance that can result from using only K100. For small black text, stick with K100 to prevent registration issues.

Embed or outline all fonts in your file. For best color accuracy, supply files in CMYK color mode unless your product needs RGB or PMS colors.

Thin White Text on Rich Black Backgrounds:

Even with top-tier standards, minor print shifts can happen. Thin or small white text on a rich black background can be affected by color bleeding or reduced readability. To prevent these issues, use the rich black formula C30, M20, Y20, K100. Avoid denser builds like C60, M60, Y60, K100 that cause color shifting.

Increase the thickness of white knockout text to protect sharpness. Try a minimum line weight of 0.75pt and font size of 8pt. Applying swelling (slight enlargement of knockout areas) helps keep text clear and legible after printing.
