General File Preparation Guidelines:

Download the guides in this folder for best printing results. Be sure to delete hidden layers that shouldn’t be printed, like setup guides or surplus artwork, to prevent unwanted elements from appearing on your Cards.

Submit each job, including multi-page projects, as a single PDF. All pages must match in size. Double-check orientation for correct front and back alignment. Reference the File Orientation Guides in the product images for details.

Avoid borders in your design—borders close to the trim can appear uneven due to normal trimming variations. Always include a 1/8" bleed, and keep key text and artwork inside the safety margin. A larger safety margin is ideal to protect essential design elements from trimming errors.

Ensure all files are high resolution and set to CMYK color mode at 300 DPI for optimal print quality. For black text, use C0, M0, Y0, K100. For larger black areas, try C30, M20, Y20, K100 for deeper, more vivid black. Using only K100 may result in a dark gray rather than a true rich black, while the extra CMY values help maintain appearance and prevent UV overprint issues. Smaller black text should use single-color black (K100) to avoid registration problems.

All fonts must be fully embedded or outlined before submitting. For best color accuracy, send files in CMYK only, unless the product specifically needs RGB or PMS.

Thin White Text on Rich Black Backgrounds:

Minor shifts can happen in printing. Thin white text on a rich black background is at higher risk for bleeding or filling in, which can reduce legibility. To reduce these risks, use the rich black formula C30, M20, Y20, K100, and avoid heavier coats. Make white text thicker and apply swelling to knockout text areas. This keeps your UV-coated Business Cards crisp and easy to read.
