You can upgrade to 18 pt cards with double-sided lamination for extra thickness. Raised Foil Printing lets you select Raised Silver Foil or Raised Gold Foil, adding brilliant metallic shine and tactile detail. Rounded corners at a 1/4" radius provide a sleeker finish. Both Gold Foil and Silver Foil elements help these Metallic Foil Business Cards stand out. Important Instructions: For the best Metallic Foil application, follow these guidelines to prevent production delays and achieve optimal results. Use fonts larger than 8pt for clarity. Sans serif fonts work best on metallic backgrounds. Do not place artwork beneath foil areas. Avoid masking techniques as they can conflict with Raised Foil Printing. Avoid large areas of heavy foil that have fine non-foil text or delicate linework knocked out inside them. These details may fill in during production. Caution: The foil machine manufacturer advises against pushing foil designs to the trimmed card edge. This can cause peeling. Always leave a minimum 5 mm foil-free margin all around. Full-bleed foil is not recommended for Metallic Foil Business Cards and may result in a visible border if submitted. Increase letter spacing when using metallic foil. A tracking setting of +20 to +50 helps small text and ensures details remain crisp. This is especially important for Silver Foil and Gold Foil features. Avoid ultra-bold or heavy font weights. Regular or medium font weights with a minimum size of 7–8 pt are ideal for Raised Foil Printing. If fonts seem dense, add a thin internal outline in the background color. This reduces letter weight, helps maintain spacing, and ensures Silver and Gold details stay crisp. Metallic foil can spread during production. Keep visible spacing between elements no smaller than 0.3–0.5 pt. This will ensure all Raised Foil features remain sharp and legible.
